This website will chronicle our adventures while we hike the Ice Age TrailHi there! We are Mike and Jim. We are going to hike the entire Ice Age Trail here in Wisconsin. We will be working on this site as we have time and hiking whenever we can! The Ice Age Trail is a national scenic trail that crosses the state of Wisconsin following the southernmost extent of the last glacier to cover the state. It highlights many topographical features which were created during the last ice age between 15,000 and 25,000 years ago. The links on the left take you to this year's adventures. Born in Englewood, Colorado and spent his time at the family cabin in the mountains of Evergreen, Colorado. Mike spent much of his time in the outdoors, which is why he's so crazy about it now! Mike is married 33 years now to Kathy from Janesville, Wisconsin. He has three children, Jennifer 23, Andrew 21, and Rachel 19. Two Dogs, Brandy (Yellow Lab), and Jack..Captain Jack Sparrow (Scotty). Mike's goal is to hike the entire Ice Age Trail in 3 years! Ya, like that'll happen!
Jim is a Navy veteran and a teacher. Born and raised in Milwaukee, Jim left twice, once when he joined the Navy and once to go to school, and returned both times. He was never much of an outdoorsman, but enjoyed a bit of camping from time to time. He teaches 9th grade Citizenship and 7th Grade Social Studies. He is also licensed to teach Geography, History and Economics. He has four cats: Ordie, Pippin, Poptart and Probie; Jim has also recently adopted a dog, Ziva. His goal is to hike the Ice Age Trail from end to end, and lose about 50 pounds or so.
